Rosalind Jarrett

Rosalind Jarrett ’69 is Executive in Charge of Publicity for the Screen Actors Guild Awards® and has contributed to expanding the audiences for the SAG Awards telecasts on TNT and TBS since 1999. She began her television career at Los Angeles PBS station KCET/28. During her subsequent 13-year tenure with the ABC Television Network Group, she was honored with the Publicist Guild of America’s Maxwell Weinberg Publicists Showmanship Award. She has also been a PR consultant for E! Entertainment Television and Jeff Margolis Productions.

In 2009, Ms. Jarrett co-produced the inaugural UBC2C HOLLYWOOD Entertainment & Media Symposium for the UB College of Arts & Sciences with fellow CAS Dean’s Advisory Council member Christine La Monte. She is a founder of the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society, served on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Public Relations Coordinating Committee and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Television Publicity Executives Committee. She has lectured on Entertainment Public Relations at UCLA, USC, NYU and Loyola Marymount University. The Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild/Local 600 nominated her for the 2009 Les Mason Award for Career Achievement.

Ms. Jarrett holds a certificate from the Simmons College Graduate School of Management’s Program for Developing Managers and earned the first BA awarded jointly in English and Theatre from the University at Buffalo, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with an honors focus on public support of the arts. She first put her degree into practice as an administrator for the Association of American Dance Companies, a grants officer for the New York State Council of the Arts and publicist for the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company.

A member of USA Triathlon’s Team USA, Ms. Jarrett competed in the 2009 ITU Aquathlon, Olympic Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon Age Group Worlds in Gold Coast, Australia, the 2008 ITU Aquathlon Worlds in Monterey, Mexico and the 2006 ITU Aquathlon Worlds in Lausanne, Switzerland, She was the 2004 LA Triathlon Club Volunteer of the Year. She produced the 21st Annual Marina del Rey Boat Show and has logged over 10,000 miles racing and cruising under sail.
