Dr. William C. Rock is a Distinguished Service Professor, Emeritus, State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. He is a member of the Foundation Board, SUNY Brockport; Regional Chair, United University Professions Active Retirees of Western New York; member of University Founders, University at Buffalo; dancer in OASIS TAPPERS; member of Friends of Brockport Dance Board and Board of Governors of Dance Rochester. Dr. Rock has established endowment funds at SUNY Albany, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Potsdam, and the Linda Diane Rock Memorial Scholarship Fund and the William C. and Annette L. Rock Study Abroad Fund in the Liberal Arts at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Rock’s major management experience includes Coordinator of Planning and Research (Rochester City School District), Deputy Associate Commissioner for Equal Educational Opportunity(U.S. Office of Education) plus major consultancies in education and energy conservation at the Federal level, and Chair, Department of Educational Administration at SUNY Brockport. Other past major professional activities include President of Brockport Faculty Senate; President of the Northeastern Educational Research Association; member of the Committee on Program Evaluation in Education of the National Academy of Sciences; member of first State Executive Board of United University Professions; first President of UUP at SUNY Brockport; education columnist for the Rochester Times Union; and recipient of the Secretary's Special Citation(HEW) for implementation of the $1.5 billion Emergency School Aid Act. He received his BA and MA in History from SUNY Albany, and his Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Columbia University. Dr. Rock joined the DAC in 2008.
